Why wasn’t my transcript, summary, or video recording created?
If your transcript, summary, or video recording is missing after an interview, it is usually due to missing permissions, consent requirements, or the recording assistant not being present in the call. Interview Intelligence records and processes interviews in order to generate transcripts, summaries, and insights after the interview. If certain technical or compliance conditions are not met, the system will not record or process the interview data. Below are the most common reasons and how to resolve them:
1. Check that all browser permissions were granted
For Interview Intelligence to capture audio and video during the interview, the browser must have the correct permissions enabled.
Please make sure that:
Microphone access is allowed
Camera access is allowed
Your browser did not block permissions when the platform requested them
Any required system permissions (for example, screen recording on macOS) are enabled
You can usually verify this by clicking the lock icon (🔒) in the browser address bar and confirming that microphone and camera access are set to Allow.
If these permissions were not granted before or during the interview, the system will not be able to capture the interview content.
2. Confirm that candidate consent was obtained
Before starting the interview, the interviewer must clearly inform the candidate that:
The interview will be recorded
The conversation will be transcribed
The data will be used to generate interview insights and summaries
The candidate must provide explicit consent before recording begins.
If consent was not obtained, the platform will not record or process the interview.
3. If you are using Microsoft Teams
When using Microsoft Teams, Interview Intelligence requires the SocialTalent app and the recording assistant to be present in the meeting.
Please ensure that:
Cara (AI Assistant) has joined the call
The SocialTalent app is enabled within the meeting
Cara was not removed from the meeting during the interview
If Cara is not present in the meeting or the SocialTalent app is not enabled, the interview cannot be recorded or processed, which means transcripts and summaries will not be generated.
4. What happens if these requirements are not met?
If permissions were not granted, candidate consent was not confirmed, or the recording assistant was not present:
The interview will not be recorded
A transcript will not be generated
A summary or analysis will not be created
Unfortunately, if the interview was not captured during the session, the recording and transcript cannot be generated afterwards.
5. How to prevent this in future interviews
Before starting an interview, we recommend running a quick pre-interview check:
Use a supported browser (preferably Google Chrome)
Confirm microphone and camera permissions
Ensure Cara (AI Assistant) joins the meeting
Confirm the SocialTalent app is enabled if using Microsoft Teams
Inform the candidate about recording and obtain explicit consent
Taking these steps ensures the interview can be recorded, transcribed, and processed successfully.
